Q1. How can I get a target board for each new Samsung microcontroller ?

A.

You need to get a new target board which is the device-specific target board for your new application system. For example; if you decide S3C70F4XZ0 (KS57C01504) device for your application project, you need to get the TB70F4 (TB570504A) target board. After deciding a target microcontroller of the Samsung MCUs to be used in your application system, you need to get a new target board which will be supported by Samsung or Samsung sales agent without charge. ( If you have any difficulty to get the target board, please contact us directly. )

Q2. Can I use the Samsung standard target boards that were provided by Samsung for the Smart Kit (SK-1000, SK-820, or SK-420) In-circuit Emulator ?

A.

Yes, you can use the Samsung standard target boards for the Smart kit in-circuit emulator. When you use the Samsung standard target board with the Smart Kit, you may need to get the OTP socket adapter(SA-xxxx) for programming OTP/MTP devices because OTP socket adapter is not included in the Samsung standard target boards.

Q3. Can I use the OTP socket adapters(SA-xxxx, GA-xxxx type) which were purchased from C & A Technology for the other company's tools such as SMDS2+ or Turbo-32 ?

A.

Yes, you can use the OTP socket adapters which were purchased from us for the other company's programming tool because all of socket adapters for OTP programming were designed under controls of Samsung standard pin arrangement of 40-pin footprint. For examples:

Single socket adapter, SA-42SDIP, can be used for SMDS2+ or OPENice provided by other company to program OTPs with 42SDIP-package type.

Gang socket adapter, GA-44QFP, can be used for Turbo-32 gang programmer provided by other company to program OTPs with 44QFP-package type.

Q4. Can I purchase only one or a few gang adapter sockets for GW-PRO2 gang programmer ?

A.

Yes, you can purchase gang socket adapter(GA-xxxx) one by one. If you purchase kit base(8-socket per kit) for your gang programmer, the price of kit base could be discounted compared to one-by-one purchasing.

Q5. How to program OTP or MTP devices with the pellet type using SPW2plus
or GW-PRO2 programmers (On-board writing) ?

Please see "Chapter 3. On-board writing Application" on User's Manual of the SPW2plus. You can download User's Manual from the Download files menu. Also you could need adapter for connecting between the programmers and devices(on board); GA-Pellet for GW-PRO2 gang programmers.
